now you see me, soon you won't

Hey friends,

Last night as I was looking at my audience through the stats menu on blogger, I became disgusted as to where my blog had been looked at and posted.
No it's not certain people, it was some pervert that linked my blog to a terrible site. So..
In order to make me feel better,
this is one of those cookie cutter blog posts letting you know that this blog is going to become

Please give me your email address so I can add you to the list!
or you can leave a comment with your email address,
or you can message me on Facebook with your email address.

Basically, just hand over your electronic mail address to me in any way shape or form.

Danke!
(oh, that's German for thanks)

the best way to say I love you.

Most of you know that shortly after graduating High School I was an avid temple go-er. Sadly, since getting married I haven't gone NEARLY as much as I would like.

When we were sealed there was only one thing that I remember the temple sealer said and I want to write it down so I will never ever forget.

"The best way to let your spouse know that you love them is by taking them to the temple. When you go with each other, it is your own personal and spiritual way of saying,
I love you."

Doesn't that rock?!

Well we definitely have realized that his advice was golden in our first year of marriage. There is a dramatic difference in our relationship when we attended the temple. So we are going to make it a more important part of our lives again!! Starting with once a month, then we are going to make it every other week, baby!

Who's with us?

So grateful to have these buildings on the earth. They are our happy place!

October Fun!

This month really flew by! So here are some of the fun things we did:

We have season tickets to the BYU football games and have LOVED going to each game! After playing football his sophomore year, J grew a dislike for football (locker room talk reasons). I LOVE football. So at first J was hesitant to go to the BYU games.. he's never been to one. Now he anxiously awaits each game!
There is something about LaVell's stadium that is just so thrilling!!!
Plus we also discovered their corn dogs... so bad for you, but so so good!!!
We get one every game.. I'm just going to blame it on tradition!

My sister had a witches night out party. Her decorations were the bomb... I wish I took more pictures of it. We were supposed to dress up as different witches. I of course chose the Miranda witch. If you have no idea who that is, look up Miranda Sings on YouTube.
You won't regret it... okay, maybe you will.
You really will.

Yes, I know I left the tag on my hat. WWMD?!
(What would Miranda do?)

We went to the movies, and we carved pumpkins TWICE (we had to make up for the lack of pumpkin carving last year)! We also saw "In the Heights" at the Hale which was AMAZING! Definitely recommend it! It was fun seeing some familiar faces on that stage as well.

We were old people for Halloween and Daisy was a cute little lion and let us keep her costume on her the whole time we went trick or treating with our nephew Alex. The second we got in the house though, she wanted that bad boy off!
J even went to school in his costume,
these pictures do not do us justice!

Then I also chopped off my hair! Yay for change!

Then finally, on Saturday we took family pictures! I can't wait to see them!!!

I feel like we did so much more but it's all just slipping from my memory. This month seriously went by in a flash! The next two months always do too... here's to hoping I keep up to date on blogging so I don't do four posts in one day again! Wowza!! Just follow me on Instagram. That's where I'm at.

Happy November erry one!

p.s. Aren't I doing so great at taking pictures?! YEAH!

Anniversary Getaway

With being the normal "newly weds" we weren't able to go on a super fun anniversary trip like we hoped we would have been able to. Like going on a cruise or to Disneyland... but you have to have money for that and we had no monies.

So, we just made the most of it! Since our anniversary was on a Wednesday we went out for sushi and then decided to do something that weekend.

haha, the goof.

I was in charge of Saturday, and Jacob was in charge of Friday night. Jacob kept it a secret as to where we were staying until late one night when it slipped just a few days before we were going to go out of town. Ha ha, he was so upset but I didn't mind because it was my favorite place!!!

Castle Creek Inn!!!

This time we stayed in Enchanted evening. It was a bigger room with a couch and a bigger bed. Probably more for a business man considering there was a desk and all. But it was beautiful!

Here are some pictures:

Plus they knew it was our anniversary so they were super nice and even told us "Happy Anniversary" every time they saw us. We ordered room service and felt super cool!

But then we fell asleep as we were eating it... which led to us not feeling very well. Ha ha. But it was still really really fun! After giving our stomachs some time to rest. We went down  to the lobby and got some of their games to play and movies to watch and of course we had to take advantage of the fresh out of the oven snacks!

The next morning we had Belgium waffles for breakfast that were DELICIOUS! We also got a late check out so we didn't feel as rushed as we did last time. Also, I packed J a shirt that was missing a button so we had to go shopping last minute and get him a new shirt!

Then we headed up to Salt Lake for my adventure. We ended up going to the gateway and each bought a book that we wanted to read and then went to THE CIRCUS!! I was a little apprehensive considering our original anniversary plan was to head to Vegas and see Zarkana, but we absolutely loved it!! It was a blast!!! We did almost witness a deathly fall, but it was great!

Best pictures we could get... cheesy over the top smiles and a funny face.

Then we couldn't help but want to get home to our Daisy Mae... even though it was just for one night we could tell she sure missed us! She stayed the night at my in-laws and she came running up to us as soon as we entered the house and fell asleep in Jacobs arms. Love that pup!

All in all it was a GREAT anniversary.
I mean, it doesn't really matter what you do to celebrate it. Just as long as you're still together! Ha ha. :)
Although, Jacob did say the other day that the next time we go on vacation we are leaving Utah. Ha ha... we're desperate for some Mickey ears or the beach!

Our little Daisy

Well if you are my friend on FB or IG you will have noticed that we did indeed get Daisy!!

We love her so much!
We don't know how she does it but she gets cuter and cuter by the day!

This is my first dog.
Growing up, my Mom was allergic and we really didn't have the time to take care of a dog
with both parents working.
So I'm a first timer and I am LOVING it!

She is such a good doggy. She doesn't shed, she's hypoallergenic, LOOOOVVVEEESSS to cuddle, she jumps like a bunny, she loves people, she's starting to learn to like other dogs, she knows two tricks, she's {almost} entirely potty trained, and she makes us laugh all the time.
She is so silly.

She loves to be held like a baby and have her tummy scratched.

When you give her a bath, she looks like a little rat. Ahahahaha.

But mostly she cuddles, and finds the funniest ways to sleep. In the mornings when Jacob takes her out she runs up the stairs to my side of the bed and jumps up and down on her hind legs until I pick her up. Then she takes my pillow, the little thief!

We love her and are so happy that we have her.
The phrase "I miss Daisy" continually comes out of our mouths when we go places that we can't take her.
I guess we are now classified as over the top doggy parents.
Ha ha.

Hallows Eve

SCENE:
J was having a bit of a rough night so I decided I would pull out a caramel apple for us to eat.

O: Getting up to go in the kitchen "You're being a grouch!"
J: Pulls blanket over head, "I know, I'm just going to sit here on the grouch couch"
O: Starts cutting up the apple "That doesn't sound too fun"
J: "Daisy come and sit on the grouch couch with me"
Daisy: Starts to run over to him
O: trying to get her to eat her food instead "Daisy come here"
J: "NO! Don't listen to her!!! She's full of rays of happiness and sunshine!"

{both of us couldn't help but laugh}

Needless to say, he wasn't grumpy after that..
Life with J is a life full of laughter.

And I love that.

She just lays on the ground when it's on.

We'll have to post pictures of our costumes later. They're gonna be pretty awesome.

They're our favorite!

September 25, 2012

I remember...

sleeping in until 9:30 and waking up to rain,

my sister and I making funny faces at the videographers camera thinking it was on while she was doing my hair and make up,

eating a cracker for breakfast,

Jacob coming to the door to take me to the temple,

holding hands as we drove on I-15, all smiles,

giving gifts to each other in our last minutes of being two separate people,

walking into the temple feeling the spirit and being welcomed by all the cute temple workers,

signing my name for the last time as Olivia McCall Mabey on our marriage license,

not wanting to be apart from Jacob as we went our separate ways to change.

I remember sitting with him in the Celestial room waiting for our sealer,

walking into the sealing room and feeling so much love for everyone there,

I wish I could remember all that was said, but I do remember the spirit was strong.

I remember getting ready quickly and having to wait in the brides room because Jacob wasn't ready yet,

I remember coming around the corner and seeing Jacobs face as he saw me in my dress for the first time,

walking outside of the temple as one and seeing ALL of our family and friends waiting for us,

my sister spraying my hair with hairspray before anyone could hug me,

the weather clearing up and it was BEAUTIFUL,

I remember how happy I was as we walked around the temple and took pictures,

getting stuck in traffic on the way to the reception and laughing the whole car ride,

eating one bread stick before people started arriving,

seeing old friends, making new friends, and having conversations with all the people Jacob and I both love in the receiving line,

I remember waltzing with my dad,

while dancing with Jacob everyone in the room seemed to disappear,

the sparklers being lit while Jacob was still changing... ha ha. Funny story,

I remember all the love and happiness we both felt..

But most of all I remember how I felt for Jacob that day and it's no where close to my feelings for him now.

Now here we are one year later. So much has happened in a year. Some great, some terrible. Boy, am I grateful that I got to go through it all with him by my side. No we aren't perfect, we have disagreements, we get upset, we don't always have a clean house, but we are learning and growing! It's going quite splendidly, if I do say so myself!

Happy one year my love, life without you would just be sad. I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us, as well as the many more years to come!

After all, we do have for, well,  ever.

Have you ever heard about a website called Puppies for Rent? If you are interested about what they are go ahead and click on that link. But here is a little info from their website.

"Puppies For Rent LLC is a humanitarian-minded company founded in Provo, Utah. Our mission is to help three distinct groups: puppies who need to find homes, students and others who are currently incapable of owning a pet, and those interested in adopting a puppy.

Our puppies come from families who adopt them initially but cannot keep them, accidental pregnancies resulting in puppies that need loving homes, or rescue organizations. As such, one of our primary goals is to find wonderful homes for each one of our puppies.
As an organization, we believe that adopting a pet is a large and important decision; a dog will become a new member of the family. Puppies For Rent provides the opportunity to see your potential pet in its future home to help avert adopting a puppy and realizing shortly thereafter that the particular puppy is a poor fit for your home or lifestyle. Rather than expecting future owners to go and pick out a dog after only extremely limited interaction, we provide the chance to get to know a puppy’s personality and to see how the puppy behaves with your family before deciding to adopt. All rental costs do go towards the cost of adopting the puppy."
Pretty cool right? As much as we have wanted a dog, our fourplex isn't allowed to have pets. On labor day J and I decided we would rent a puppy to play with as something fun to do for the day. Unfortunately our reservation didn't go through and we didn't get to see the pup. I emailed to ask what happened and after finding out there was a glitch in their system they offered a free rental.
We decided we would rent Daisy for two hours the following Saturday. We both had completely detached ourselves from wanting her and were excited to play with her for a little bit! Plus, it said she was a small dog and both of us are wanting a medium/large dog in the future. This way we wouldn't get attached!
At twelve o'clock the doorbell rang. As we opened the door the unthinkable happened... our hearts melted. She was ADORABLE! We INSTANTLY fell in love with her.
The website described her as "a fluffy cuddle muffin" and she definitely lived up to that description. I took her and she immediately cuddled into me. My heart was now a puddle. She was the best puppy I had ever seen! She didn't bark and she was SO calm!
After just 10 minutes of being with her, we hopped right into the car and drove straight to J's parents house. {They're our landlords} J's sister and mom instantly fell in love with her and saw what we saw. She was MEANT to be ours!  {also, her tail was wagging the entire time she was with us, she loves us!}
After about an hour of J's wonderful sweet talking his dad AGREED! We could keep her!!!!!

Pictures don't do her justice! We are pretty sure she is a shih tzu, small poodle mix. Her coloring is brown/red with some black and a white patch on her tummy! :)

We are absolutely THRILLED and can not wait until she can "officially" be a member of our family! We have contacted the organization and are just waiting to hear back.

HUGE Thank you to my in laws!!!
Please pray that no one else has asked to adopt her so we can bring her home! I can't begin to explain how well she fits in our family, and how much we love her.

xoxo
